ICER BRAKES
Since the beginning in 1961, ICER Brakes has understood the importance of research and development in the field of tribology.
A pioneer for several decades in the search for asbestos-free formulations, ICER has established itself in recent years as one of the leading manufacturers in research and innovation, and proof of this is that ICER has been the first manufacturer on the market of a complete range of copper-free formulations.
Grants and Subsidies
This company has received a grant from the Government of Navarre under the 2022 call for proposals for aid to improve competitiveness. This entity has received aid from the Government of Navarre, co-financed 40% by the European Regional Development Fund through the ERDF Operational Programme 2021-2027 of Navarre.
Centre Technologique
ICER Brakes has a large technology center at its facilities. This allows it to continue creating new products capable of meeting market needs.
In its laboratories, using three dynamometers, the company conducts full-scale tests on all its product lines, as well as vehicle tests. At this technology center, ICER Brakes has installed a test bench unique in Europe, enabling the in-house development of new products and the performance of braking tests at its 1:1 scale facilities.
The company subjects its products to intensive dynamometer testing to estimate and predict, among other procedures, both vehicle braking distances and deceleration, in accordance with Global Spec testing standards, among others.
The Research and Development department has the capability to perform NVH (Non-Vehicle Resistance) testing by simulating a utility vehicle in its latest 1:1 scale SCHENCK dynamometer. This simulation uses vehicle and braking system parameters provided by customers, in addition to data obtained from other tests.
Simulating vehicle speed and mass allows for the acquisition of complete data without deviations caused by environmental factors. Furthermore, friction stability, wear, noise, brake fade, and disc condition are monitored.
Approvals
The product developed by Icer Brakes is based on a premium material, treated using an environmentally friendly scorching process, which is also fully approved by ECE R90 homologation. The company, with more than six hundred different homologations under this regulation, is a market leader.
All brake pads produced by this manufacturer comply with the requirements of said regulation and incorporate a scorching treatment, which offers significant advantages during disc-pad mating.
ICER products also comply with the international regulation «California Senate Bill 346».
